Kick Off Meeting: Thursday 9/17

The Austin Alumnae Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha formally invites you to kick off the year at the home of Mary Walcutt on September 17th at 6:30 p.m. Join us for a light dinner and learn about all the exciting activities we have planned for the women of ZTA this year!

This year, we will be collecting all types of school supplies for the “For the Children” group; a non-profit organization that serves 10 Central Texas school districts in need. Grab some extra pencils, pens, notebook paper, notebooks, binders, markers, crayons, glue or rulers and help out your local Austin area schools!

Also, your local Austin Alumnae chapter funds a scholarship in the name of Mary and Bruce Walcutt. We will be hosting a raffle at the kick-off dinner to raise funds for this outstanding and honorable scholarship and giving away some fantastic prizes. You can purchase 5 tickets for $10 or 12 tickets for $20. You won’t want to forget your checkbook!

For directions to the Home of Mary Walcutt, please contact austinzta@gmail.com.

Take advantage of the early bird special and sign up for the 2009-2010 year before the kick-off party! Forms available here.

2008 Kick-Off Party

The first meeting for the 2008-2009 year was a great success. 60+ members gathered at Mary Walcutt’s house on the evening of September 11th for a light dinner and meeting to discuss the year’s events. Great focus was turned to the new events included in the schedule as well as the Celebration of Life Luncheon. Members also generously donated boxes full of school supplies that were donated to the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders. If you couldn’t make it, we’d love to see you at the next event. See the calendar for more details.

National News

Austin Alumnae member, Dinah Laughery, was elected and installed as the new Secretary-Treasurer for the National Council during Convention this summer in Tucson, Arizona.

Also at National Convention, the Austin Alumnae chapter was recognized in the Founder’s Club for donating $25,000 to $49,999 to the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation over the biennium. We were also honored as a Crown Chapter.

Congratulations!
